A Comparative review of Process-Centered Software Engineering Environments
Annals of Software Engineering 14, 1-4 (2002) 311-340
Abstract: The process of developing and maintaining a product or service plays a crucial role in determining its quality and its costs. The process importance is recognised since decades in manufacturing. Software companies have started to model, analyse, reengineer or improve theirs processes more recently. Standards and metamodels have been studied and defined. In parallel environments supporting process definition, enactment and performance have been built, both in industry and in academia both in USA and in Europe. This paper is an attempt to survey the work done since 86 and to compare different solutions.
