Ambitious Educational Projects as a Driving Force for Software Development

Abstract : In the pre-www era, dating back to 1987, schools required a communication system for collaboration. A requirements specification was established that focused on user friendliness, flexibility, distributed databases, and the transmission of formatted documents and pictures. During this era Transmission control protocol/Internet protocol TCP/IP communication was used, which is now known as the Internet.
