Dysprosium-Doped Silica Fiber as Saturable Absorber in a Mid-IR Fiber Laser

Abstract : We demonstrate the use of a dysprosium-doped silica fiber saturable absorber in a passively Q-switched erbium-doped fluoride fiber laser operating at 2.8 µm.
