Abstract

From 2005 to 2011, fox infection by the parasite Echinococcus multilocularis (Em) was investigated in 44 French departments. Geographic expansion and prevalence increase have been evidenced. Em is now located over a large area including the western part of France. Its presence in urban areas such as in the vicinity of Paris has been shown.
