Abstract : The article presents the pedagogical conception of the French educator C. Freinet as a way to implement the principle of individualization in modern educational practices. We designed a pilot experiment based on application of Freinet's teaching methods. The experiment conducted in the conditions of a foreign language course resulted in increased student motivation towards learning.
