Abstract : The way supply networks are designed has evolved through the years in order to address changes in the business environment, such as increasing customer service requirements, shortening of product life cycles and never ending pressures for inventory reduction. It is thus not surprising that hundreds of supply chain and supply network researches have been reported since the introduction of the concepts, focused on designing supply chains and networks so as to concurrently minimize logistics costs and maximize customer service in a turbulent and competitive environment.
