On the Impact of the TCP Acknowledgement Frequency on Energy Efficient Ethernet Performance

Abstract : With the adoption of the recently approved Energy Efficient Ethernet standard, frame scheduling will have a significant impact on Energy Consumption. Acknowledgements are large percentage of frames in Transmission Control Protocol sessions. In this paper the impact of different TCP acknowledgement policies on the energy consumption of Ethernet Networks is analyzed.
