Evaluation de la maturation des bébés prématurés par graphe de visibilité

Abstract : In this study, the visibility algorithm, which is a fast and simple method that converts a temporal series into a graph, was used to characterize the complex behavior of cardiac variability for the evaluation of the maturation of premature babies. In terms of methods, it is shown that some of the parameters extracted from the visibility graph provide new information and others are highly correlated with existing nonlinear parameters of the literature (entropy sample, approximate entropy, fluctuation analysis values). Clinically, the association of a set of linear and non-linear parameters of cardiac variability with the visualization parameters shows a good separation between a group of 25 babies born at term and another of 16 preterm babies with less than 32 weeks of gestational age. These findings indicate that premature babies have a higher sympathetic activity and a reduction in the overall change in heart rate compared to babies born at term. In addition, cardiac variability in preterm infants creates a complex network less dynamic than that of full term babies.
