Abstract : The use of modeling and simulation now allows considerable performance for meteorological forecasting or for the design of very complex technological objects. It is tempting to pursue these efforts and direct them to other particularly complex subjects such as the study of the brain. However, it is very important to analyze the principles of the modeling and simulation approach in order to best apply them in a systemic framework, the most adapted to study the brain, and to realize that it is not a question to build the most precise and heaviest models but the most adapted to the question that one asks.
