Abstract : We consider the problem of how a geostationary satellite should assign bandwidth to several service providers (operators) so as to meet some minimum requirements, on one hand, and to perform the allocation in a fair way, on the other hand. In the paper, we firstly address practical issues (such as integrity constraints), whereafter we provide a computational method for obtaining an optimal fair allocation in polynomial time taking the practical issues into account.
