Real Solving and parallel robots

Résumé

We describe the general characteristics of both families of known robots (serial and parallel) as well as the main problems requiring the use of results of real algebraic geometry more or less sophisticated. We detail then the use which is at present done by certain algorithms of exact calculation for the settling of complex and powerful machine tools and we review some existing software solutions. We show in particular how these solutions allow to diagnose and to finalize a system of command for machine tools on base of parallel mechanisms.
