Numerical time integration of higher order dynamical systems with state constraints

Abstract : This work addresses the problem of the numerical time integration of the Moreau's Sweeping Process (MSP) and particularly one of its extensions: The higher order formulation. The goal of this paper is to give some hints and tricks on the ability of the proposed associated time-stepping scheme to deal with non smooth evolutions without explicit event-handling procedures. We present also new algorithms for solving higher order non smooth dynamical systems.
