Combining a Mass Matrix formulation and a high order dissipation for the discretisation of turbulent flows

Abstract : This study focuses on analysis of a mass matrix scheme with high-order numerical dissipation for the discretisation of three-dimensional turbulent flows.We used a mixed finite element/finite volume formulation for the discretisation of compressible Navier-Stokes equations.VMS-LES turbulence model is performed to simulate the flow around a circular cylinder at a subcritical Reynolds number of 3900.
