Channel assortment strategy for reliable communication in multi-hop cognitive radio networks

Abstract : Channel selection plays a vital role in efficient and reliable data dissemination. In the context of Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) [1], channel selection is more challenging due to the traffic pattern and channels' occupancy of primary radio (PR) nodes. Moreover, Cognitive Radio (CR) transmissions should not degrade the reception quality of PR nodes and should be immediately interrupted whenever a neighboring PR activity is detected [2]. Thus, it is essential and, however, extremely challenging for CR nodes to correctly select channels allowing reliable communication.
