Keep an eye on your publications with your IdHAL!

How to easily mitigate the risk that a contributor to Hal may not mention you correctly as the author of a publication?

It happens that, in their haste to deposit in HAL, some people do not correctly signal the co-authors. For example, they may create a new author even though one already exists and has a unique idHal.

As a result, if you have a well designed publications page thanks to Haltools to display your publications in real-time, some may be missing.

Despite efforts to hunt down inconsistencies in the database, the curation team of the IES service cannot correct these errors because only an author can say with certainty that a publication is his/hers and not someone else’s.

Therefore, it is up to the authors to “keep an eye on their little ones,” or more precisely, on their publications and it’s very easy when you have an idHal:

• Log in to inria.hal.science

• Go to “My IdHAL”

• Click on “My Publications”, then on “Show publications with your authors’ names”

Then, with a simple click, you can check the ones that belong to you, and presto, HAL corrects the metadata (see details and screeshots here (in French):https://doc.hal.science/identifiant-auteur-idhal-cv/#mes-publications).
