Abstract : This article falls within the realm of dialogue between a human and an embodied conversational agent (ECA). We claim that a specific agent conversational language is required for such interactions, based on the essential role of emotion in human communication. In order to define this language, we propose a library of multimodal conversation acts, based on speech acts and the expression of emotions linked to these acts. Our study focuses on complex emotions, arising from agents' reasoning. This multimodal conversation language is used to express the communicative intention of an ECA which is able to communicate through all modalities, verbal and non-verbal.
