Abstract : Due to the popularity of multiplayer games, all of today’s gaming consoles have wireless capabilities. However, in order to write the network related part of such a game, the programmer is required to understand and use a low level and difficult API. We address this issue by creating a networking engine that needs to be both efficient to run on the limited resources offered by a gaming console, and also easy to use in order to shorten development time. In this paper, we first explain the need for such an engine, then we continue with some theoretical background and finally we present and discuss our results.
