Abstract : Facility location decisions concern the positioning of production facilities regarding international, national, regional or local level. Indicator sets and methods for the support of such decisions traditionally focus economic aspects. However, approaches for solving the facility location problem by taking into account the three pillars of sustainability, namely social, ecological and economic aspects, are still rare. This paper complements existing reviews by a structured analysis of established indicator sets and evaluation methods for facility locations in comparison to approaches focusing sustainability aspects.
