Abstract : BCI platforms are collections of open source software tools and interfaces that assist in implementing, exploring and using BCI. The platforms alleviate research, design and use of Brain-Computer Interfaces by providing off-the-shelf versions of the common paradigms and components. These can then be applied or adapted as needed. In this chapter we give a high-level introductory overview of such platforms. Our presentation is centered on the OpenViBE platform, but we also discuss its differences to other well-known BCI platforms.
