Abstract : Exploring and understanding volumetric data is still a challenge in Computer Graphics. We believe that lighttransport theory, originally dedicated to the computation of physically accurate visualization of light diffusion in the volume, is a key solution to offer the user a more accurate and more legible visualization. As the first step toward such an approach, we present in this paper an interactive solution of light propagation. We also demonstrate how it may be used to identify regions of interest in a volume.
