Abstract : The primary purpose of RTNS is to provide the participants, academic researchers or practitioners, with a forum to disseminate their work and discuss emerging lines of research in the area of real-time and network systems: real-time system design and analysis, infrastructure and hardware for real-time systems, software technologies and applications. The 15th edition of RTNS was held in Nancy, France on the 29th and 30th March 2007. The presentations were organized in 6 sessions covering all major aspects of real-time systems: task scheduling (2 sessions), scheduling and control, formal methods, architecture and worst-case execution time estimation, real-time networks and distributed systems. In addition to the contributed papers, the RTNS technical program had the privilege to include a keynote talk by Professor Tei-Wei Kuo, from the National Taiwan University, who will share his views on the challenging issues raised by the use of flash-memory storage systems in embedded real-time systems.. Furthermore, the second edition of the “Junior Researcher Workshop on Real-Time Computing” was held in conjunction with RTNS, and was a good opportunity for young researchers to present and get feedback on their ongoing work. The RTNS papers aim to provide an excellent snapshot of the current research results and directions in the area of real-time systems.
