MIRABELLE, A System for Structural Analysis of Drawings
Résumé
We describe in this paper a system which is able to recognize and interpret a noisy hand line drawing. The parsing algorithm is based on a syntactical analysis which uses the information extracted by the system itself from the formal description of the drawing. In particular, the nature of the context of the subshape recognized so far is utilized all along the process to control the matching between the sketch and its description. The result of the recognition is a labeled tree which indicates the names of the subshapes and some numerical information on them, allowing any further manipulation or interpretation work.
