Inverse Scattering Experiments for Electric Cable Soft Fault Diagnosis and Connector Location
Résumé
Recently published theoretic results and numerical simulations have shown the ability of inverse scattering-based methods to diagnose soft faults in electric cables. The considered soft faults are modeled as spatially smooth variations of the characteristic parameters of electric cables governed by the telegrapher's equations. The purpose of the present paper is to report the experiments made with laboratory equipments confirming previously reported theoretic results and numerical simulations. The tested electric cables are twisted pairs used in trucks.
