Analysis of Income Difference among Rural Residents in China

Abstract : This paper studies and analyzes the income difference among Chinese rural residents from 1997 to 2008 through absolute difference indices and relative difference indices. It comes to the conclusion that the absolute income difference among rural residents in China has been increasing year by year, while the relative difference remains around the average level and tends to increase in fluctuations in recent years. The paper also discusses the results and proposes corresponding countermeasures.
