The Creation of the Central Person Registry in Denmark

Abstract : This paper recounts the history of the Central Person Registry in Denmark. It covers the history from when the idea of such registry was discussed in the early 1920s until the system was put into production in 1968. Additionally, it considers the initial repercussions of the decisions made during the project phase and discusses factors that led to the successful introduction of the CPR.
