Discretization of the PN model for 2D transport of particles with a Trefftz Discontinuous Galerkin method

Abstract

A discretization of the PN model for 2D transport of particles is presented, together with the derivation of new high order convergence estimates and new numerical results for the P1 and P3 models. The discretization method is based on recent advances about the construction of a Trefftz Discontinuous Galerkin (TDG) method for Friedrichs systems coming from linear transport with relaxation are presented in a comprehensive setting. More numerical results in 2 dimensions illustrate the theoretical properties.
